luMINN hotel at the Federal Plaza

This is the second project with this ownership team, who decided they wanted to try a boutique hotel. The ownership team found a small 5 story building in downtown Minneapolis and then the planning started on how to create a hotel in a building that had been a school and law firm. The floor plate created challenges with requiring the stairs to be removed and relocated and also center line of massive round columns to work around. On the first floor a lounge and bar were design for the space. The owner found a dynamic moveable lighting which the lounge was designed around to have simple finishes to allow for the lighting to be its show case.
