North Star Casino

While part of the Walsh Bishop design team, Andrea took the junior design lead on a few areas of the casino. The project was a multi-phase project tucking part of the new casino behind the existing building, which allowed the casino to stay operations during the phases.

The overall under laying theme of the building was travel on water through the seasons, gently making reference to the tribe’s history. Central Bar, was the hub under the skylight, which was a series of rings in the floor and drink rail. Snack Bar was a quick place to grab a bit to eat, using the colors of spring. The Grove Bar is a place to tuck into to watch a small performance or grab a drink away from the gaming machines.

In Phase two, the main entrance was built, finding an accent feature for the rotunda was a challenge, after main ideas of water at the center were abandoned the idea of movement, a flowing river was agreed upon. The “waves” were designed and coordinated with all trades and now create quite the show during the evening hours.
